State Fair
This post is very picture heavy. We had so much fun at the fair and we learned a lot as well. Every year we go to the fair on free kiddie ride day. They do it twice, Monday and Friday, but on Friday the Little Rock School District is out, so we try to go on Monday. This year it was raining on Monday, so we had to go on Friday. I was afraid it would be really busy so we got there 20 minutes before it opened. When we got in Thomas had the suggestion: go around to where the kiddie rides end and start there rather than fight crowd. Thomas went on the first ride alone and the next 3 we had no wait. We got about seven rides in and only had a significant wait once. It was great! As the crowds gathered we went to see the other fun stuff!
Stuart wanted to ride the train and after that got braver to ride the other rides along with Thomas. You can only see the back of their heads here.
Stuart was soooo excited to pet the turtle. He loves turtles! He wanted to go back later, but it was too crowded to get in and the turtle wasn't reachable anyway. They also got to pet a camel. We were surprised it was soft, not coarse.
Here they got to ride in a combine simulator. They chose to grow and harvest corn.
They got to gather eggs from under some hens and then harvest potatoes.
They each got to milk a cow. The cow wasn't real, but the milk was!
They had three large boxes filled with corn, wheat, and soy beans. Here Thomas is making a "corn angel".
Heidi and Stuart loved the baby ducks They kept going back again and again! Later someone pulled one out and let them pet it.
This is the duckling slide. They have it every year at the fair and we think it is so fun. When the ducklings come to get food they slide down into the water.
The soft camel. We had a lot of fun looking at the animals and learning about agriculture.
